Feng Shui

The meaning of Feng Shui is literally wind and water. The idea behind the practice of Feng Shui is to create an environment in which the health, wealth and happiness of people can flourish.

An environment has its own energy force (Chi) which flows through it. A feng shui master will try to analyse the environment to see if this energy is being blocked or drained away in any place. Remedies are then suggested which often include the positioning of the elements (wood, fire, earth, metal, water) in specific places to help balance the chi.

A qualified practitioner will need the birth dates of the people living in the house, a proportional floor plan, and the year the building was built. She will use a lo pan compass to determine the orientation of the house and then with the aid of a ba-gua diagram determine the energy blueprint within a property.

The ba-gua is composed of eight trigrams and each trigram has a home direction N, NE, NW, W, SW, S, SE, E. The trigram’s hold the key to where the energy is unbalanced, who will be upset by this unbalance and which area of their life will be affected. From the blueprint, the consultant can then suggest remedies which will balance the energy flow by removing negative energy flow and adding positive energy flow.

  • Health, prosperity and happiness
